about

Some things can't be explained.

lyrics

I have jumper made from magic wool,
it was bound together with two pointy tools.
An old lady sat for a day and a half,
she was clicking and clacking and having a laugh.
She was telling jokes about naked sheep
racing motor bikes and Suzuki Jeeps,
she only stopped to drink some wine
that was lavishly laced with turpentine.

The warp the weft through life and death from heaven to earth and back
The warp the weft through life and death from heaven to earth and back

She carried on with so much gusto
that the fury of her knitting cracked a neighbour’s window
and scared a gaggle of nearby geese
that honked and flapped and broke the peace,
but the old knitting lady never blinked an eye
whilst the startled waterfowl took to the sky.

The sun had gone and the moon and come,
the old knitting lady was drinking rum
that was fed to her by an elegant dog
wearing a felt top hat sitting on a log,
the sparks from her needles lit up the scene,
to think of it now, it seemed like a dream,
but every word i say is true,
as true as you can see that this wool is blue.

The warp the weft through life and death from heaven to earth and back
The warp the weft through life and death from heaven to earth and back

Now the wild beast that prowl the night
sat at the edge of the forest looking on in fright,
at the old knitting lady sitting at her front door
making fireworks shoot to the sky with a roar.
She was laughing and chanting in many different tongues
and stamping her feet like 2 old bass drums.
and as sun rose, she gave a slight yawn
and beckoned me over to try this thing on,
but by the time I’d pulled the jumper over my
she was fast asleep snoring in her bed.

The warp the weft through life and death from heaven to earth and back
