about

Haystack Monolith is the new solo project from Mark of St. Kilda Mailboat. With his modest nylon strung guitar and occasional electronics, he hatches myths, sagas and fanciful tales.
STRIPPED BACK
FULLY CLAD
DELICIOUSLY SURREAL and totally comitted to opening small oddly shaped doors, shining lights under damp boulders and looking up in to the rain.
The future is glorious!
Lots of love as always x

lyrics

I’m a titan uniting from the first to the last.
I come from the future, the present, the past.
My heart is part of the wind and rain.
My pastry is as tasty as a quiche Lorraine.
I’m not logical geological megalithic specific.
I’ve chosen erosion and it feels terrific.
I’ve existed for ever, but I’ve left no trace.
I’ve been weathered by weather
Now give me some bass
I’ve been here, I’ve been there, I’ve been everywhere.
From the first ever noise, to the final fanfare.
From the beat of the heart of the Alaskan Brown Bear.
To the dept of Health Education & Welfare.
So let me climb into your ears and tickle your brain with the music of the spheres, search for souvenirs from new frontiers.
So let’s start listening with rabbit’s ears.
To the sound of grass waking at dawn
Mountains singing their ancient songs
The bread crumbing of a long dead prawn.
It’s goes on and on and on and on...
I’m a Haystack Monolith
coming after you
I’m a Haystack Monolith
what you going to do
I’m a Haystack Monolith
coming after you
I’m a Haystack monolith
what you going to do
Tales of oceans, rivers and seas
The hopes and dreams of the birds and bees
The stories carried on a gentle breeze
It’s you and me, it’s you and me.
What’s here today will be gone tomorrow.
But there’s no need for pain and sorrow
It all becomes part of life’s rich marrow,
put your ears to a hedge and listen to the sparrows.
If that bird didn’t sing in 1842.
Would I be here talking to you?
The forgotten, the invisible it all adds to the stew.
Because I am the one, and so are you
And we’re all Haystack Monoliths
So what we gonna do?
